Adirondack Inspired Gifts
When you wander the streets of Saranac Lake, there’s plenty of little shops and stores to choose from. If you are looking for a great gift or souvenier from your trip here’s what we suggest:
The Community Store
Featured in the New York Times, this little department store is literally owned by members of the community and was built by selling $100 shares for years prior to opening. Now, it’s home to the usual department store items, but it also has a great gift section that sells locally produced gift items for sale. From chocolates to puzzles, there’s a gift for everyone on your list at any time of the year. 518-354-8173
Adirondack Trading Company
This little shop is full to the gills with great Adirondack inspired decor, gifts, soaps, and more! It’s a great place to wander through and you can’t walk in without picking up a great treasure to take home. 518-523-3651
Rice Furniture
It’s in the name, but this family owned furniture store also carries smaller home decor items with an Adirondack twist that make great gifts. Remember your time in the mountains with something special for your home. 518-891-4170
Clothing and Sporting Goods
Whether you are looking for something to wear on the ski lift, the trails, or out for a romantic dinner, Saranac Lake has some great shopping choices. Here are our favorites:
T.F. Finnegan’s
This little clothing store carries it all. Need a tux for a black tie event? They have it. Need a new pair of mittens? They have that, too. With high end brand name clothing and great prices (check out their bargain basement), we’ll probably see you there! 518-891-1820
Blue Line Sports Shop
In addition to hunting and fishing licenses, sporting goods, gear rentals and sports equipment galore, this great store has wonderful selections for men and women’s wilderness inspired clothing and shoes. If you need to make a functional clothing purchase for your time in the mountains, this is the place to go. They have great moisture wicking fabrics for winter safety and summer comfort and the coziest wool socks in town. 518-891-4680
