Bars & Night Clubs & Breweries

When the sun sets and you are ready for a night out on the town, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid offer something for everyone.  Here are our favorites under a few different categories:

Bars

Bitters & Bones

An Adirondack inspired rustic-industrial tavern, Bitters & Bones offers signature cocktails, craft beer, and fresh local cuisine. A laid back atmosphere with that gorgeous Adirondack touch makes for a great place to relax and enjoy a couple of drinks. 518-354-8270

The Waterhole

On an average day, the waterhole opens only the downstairs bar.  On summer weekends, however, the upstairs music lounge is the place to go.  Check the chalkboard hanging out front- if there’s a band, there’s no better place to jive on a Saturday night.  During the summer months, they have a great Thursday night music series that’s free to all. 518-891-9502

Zig Zag’s Pub

If you are willing to venture to Lake Placid, Zig Zag’s is a great local bar that often features live music.  There’s a cool mix of tourists and locals and it’s always a fun place for a game of pool.  518-523-8221

Night Clubs

Roomers

Things don’t get hopping at Roomers until around midnight, but once they do, you’ll dance the night away. 518-523-3611

Brewers

The Lake Placid Pub and Brewery

A true testament to local micro-brewed success, this pub/restaurant is a must-visit for any Adirondack vacation.  With delicious and filling pub-inspired cuisine and delicious brews made on site, a visit at any time of the year is cool.  In the summer, there’s a deck upstairs that overlooks Mirror Lake and the High Peaks.  You’ll also find their beer available in most of the area grocery stores as well!  518-523-3813

Blue Line Brewery

Wet your whistle with our resident Red Sox fan turned brew master, Mark Gillis.  With a recently opened kitchen, this former car wash is still churning out suds, but now, they’re the delicious kind!  Less commercial than the Lake Placid scene, and way more laid back, you can catch some of the game while you are there, and you’ll probably be waited on by the owner.  You can choose to dine in and enjoy some fresh hot pizza or homemade pub fare, or you can grab a growler to go.  518-354-8114
