Live Music in the Mountains
After a day of experiencing the outdoors in the Adirondacks, there’s no better way to relax than to enjoy an evening of live music. Saranac Lake and Lake Placid have a lot to offer. From kid-friendly shows in the park, to blues at the bar, we have it all. Here are some of our favorite ongoing events and musical venues:
Saranac Lake’s Downtown Summer Concert Series
On Wednesday nights in the summer months, in Berkeley Green, there’s a good time to be had by all. Featuring live, family-friendly musical events, this concert series is a must-see and won’t cost you a dime!
Songs on Mirror Lake Music Series
If Tuesday is a better night for you to get out and dance, there’s also free live music in Lake Placid. Located in Mid’s Park on the shores of Mirror Lake, you can walk, ride your bike, or paddle your canoe to a fun show! With a great rock for dancing, kids and adults alike have a foot-stomping good time every week.
If you prefer to leave the kids at home and take in some great live music in Saranac Lake, The Waterhole hosts live music in its upstairs music venue on a regular basis. On Thursday nights in the summer months, they also have shows outside for their “Party on the Patio” series. From bluegrass to funk, every show is a great time, and with a huge place to dance the night away, the venue is the best around.
With a full schedule of Open Mic Nights and live musical performances, Delta Blue at the Northwoods Inn in Lake Placid is a wonderful venue to explore. The intimate setting and quality of musicians makes for a great night out.
Lake Placid Sinfonietta
For a more classical spin on things, the Lake Placid Sinfonietta brings a beautiful, inspired, professional orchestra to the Adirondacks. With weekly concerts at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and in Mid’s Park in Lake Placid, the Sinfonietta brings high culture to the mountains and valleys. Founded with an educational mission, the performers are happy to meet aspiring musicians and their families after the concerts.
