Your Adirondack Summer Vacation at its Finest

  • Heron Exterior and Beach

Start your day with a hot cup of coffee on your private balcony and watch the morning fog rise from the lake. Have a quick breakfast or an elaborate morning feast in your full kitchen, then grab a paddle and life jacket from our marina and hop into a complimentary canoe, kayak or pedal-boat and break the stillness of the glassy lake. Throw on your sneakers or hiking boots and take a walk with your family and dog along our wooded trails, identifying tree species, butterflies and wildlife tracks along the way as you participate in one of our self-guided scavenger hunts. After a picnic lunch in our gazebo, challenge your family to a game of beach volleyball, head out onto the lake in your motor boat, or rent one from us. Barbeque a delicious dinner on your gas grill, grab your fishing pole and watch the splendid Adirondack sunset from the docks as you and your family catch fish after fish. You’ll run out of bait just in time to catch the smell of a campfire drifting around the property and the sounds of laughter, storytelling and music will draw you in. Worried about rain? Bond with your family over a board game and a bowl of stove-popped popcorn, pop-in a DVD and snuggle up, or use it as an excuse to post your vacation photos to your friends and family back home with our Wi-Fi. You can stock up on groceries and get creative in the kitchen, or get the kids involved in an arts and crafts activity. For the hearty, the fish bite, rain or shine!

Adirondack Fall Foliage and Leaf Peeping

  • Canoes

Wake up to a majestic morning fog and the honk of migratory geese as you sip your coffee on your private balcony. Lower Saranac Lake is a gleaming reflection of fiery reds, brilliant yellows and warm oranges. Fall is the best time of year to hike our recreational trails, too cool for insects, no ice or snow to contend with, and moderate temperatures. Take out a canoe or kayak and enjoy the calm silence of the lake after a summer of hustle and bustle has closed up shop. Enjoy an evening campfire or play a board game or a hand of cards, bring your own, or choose from ours.

An Adirondack Winter Wonderland in the Heart of Ski Country

  • Heron Creek and Heron Suites

Pour yourself a steaming cup of coffee and watch the deer wander across the ice on the bay. Cozy up to your flickering fireplace and read a book. Cook up a plateful of delicious in your kitchen then throw on your snow pants, hats, mittens, and get outside! Be the first to break the surface of the fresh snow as you head out onto our recreational trails, build a snowman in the lawn, or sit by a crackling campfire sipping a mug of coco. Lower Saranac Lake is home to some enormous fish species, and there’s no better way to keep an eye on your tip-ups than from the living room of your lakefront suite. Bond over a board game, watch a movie, or just curl up by the toasty fire.

Adirondack Springtime- Wildlife Viewing, Fishing and Hiking

  • Beach and Boats

After the long months and short days of winter, the days are stretching out, the mornings are bright and the air is crisp. Start your day with a steaming cup of coffee as you listen to the first calls of the loons, the chorus of spring peepers, and the honk of the geese making their way north. Take advantage of the quiet and get out on the glassy morning waters of Lower Saranac Lake in one of our kayaks or canoes. May and June are the best fishing months of the year, with the lake teeming with Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Perch and Rainbow Smelt. Throw on your puddle boots and get dirty in our community vegetable garden. Then take a walk on our recreational trails and absorb the smell of fresh earth and new life among the fiddleheads. Take yourself and the kids on a self guided scavenger hunt identifying tree species, local butterflies, or animal tracks. After a spectacular meal prepared in your immaculate kitchen, roast marshmallows and tell stories around the crackling fire or throw your line back in the water and catch a few bullhead before turning in for the night.
